The Kazan Icon of the Most Holy Mother of God is one of the most venerated. Prayers before the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God can help you in many life matters, and She is also prayed to in despondency, sorrow and calamities, when there is no longer strength to fight misfortunes. With the help of prayers before the Kazan Icon, one can be healed of any illness, and especially of eye diseases and even blindness – not only physical but also spiritual. The image of the Mother of God and prayers to Her help to find the right solution to difficult questions. For many centuries people placed the Kazan icon near a child's cot, knowing that the Mother of God would watch over the child and protect it if necessary. Since ancient times the Kazan icon has also been used to bless newlyweds for a long and happy life. And if the wedding falls on the feast day of this icon, family life should be long and happy. «Preserve Thy servants from all misfortunes, blessed Theotokos!» is written on the reverse of the bead.
