The front of the cross depicts the Crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ. On either side, turned towards the Cross, are St Mary of Clopas, the Most Holy Mother of God, the apostle John the Theologian and the holy martyr Longinus the Centurion.
The reverse bears the "Inexhaustible Chalice" Icon of the Mother of God. This icon became renowned for its help in the healing of various addictions: to alcohol, to drugs, to gambling and the like. Through this icon the Most Holy Mother of God helps people to find freedom from sinful passions. Of this speaks the prayer inscribed around the icon: "O merciful Lady, heal our infirmities and passions, and save our souls."
